In this month’s newsletter, we're focusing a bit on AI. It’s easy to get paralyzed by the overwhelming number of tools available and the pace at which things are changing, so I want to drill into practical, near-term applications of AI. How can we use AI right now to be better at what we do?

Our development team has been strategically integrating AI tools into our workflow, and the results have been really impressive. By implementing tools like Claude Code and GitHub Co-pilot Agent Mode that seamlessly fit into our existing development environment, we're accelerating our delivery timeline without compromising on quality.
The secret to our success isn't just the tools themselves, but the way we lay down a solid foundation to ensure we get the outcome we're looking for. We provide AI with boilerplate projects defining our standards, maintain detailed documentation, and conduct thorough human reviews of all AI-generated code. We've also simplified our backend on smaller projects by integrating Supabase with Multi-modal Conversational Prototype (MCP), allowing AI to assist with schema design and edge function creation.
That’s all to say that AI isn’t replacing our devs, but it is supercharging their ability to do more, better work by taking on some of the more mundane dev tasks and freeing them to focus on the novel problems and holistic thinking that AI has a tougher time with .

Sticking with the generative AI theme, we spent a little time checking out Napkin AI, which is an image generation tool with superpowers for creating business infographics.
Give it some text, and Napkin AI will create slick infographics that mix (editable) text with common visualizations that you might drop into a slide presentation, report, or blog post. Want a sales funnel or simple process illustration with arrows and accompanying text callouts? Napkin AI has got your back. The downside? It’s so easy to make graphics that you may not spend the effort to really think through the best way to convey your thoughts.

It’s a departure from the AI theme, but stays true to our focus on practical tools.
